[05-16-2025] San Bernardino, CA – Donald Post, Victorville Man Injured in Mother’s Day Motorcycle Crash, Dies from Injuries

Cajon Pass, California – A 58-year-old man from Victorville who sustained critical injuries in a motorcycle collision on Mother’s Day has died, according to officials.

The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office identified the rider as Donald Leroy Post. He passed away at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center after being airlifted from the crash site on May 11, 2025.

The accident occurred around 4:15 p.m. on Sunday along the southbound side of Interstate 15, just below Oak Hill Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident involved a motorcycle and a silver Chevrolet sedan traveling in the No. 1 lane. Upon impact, Post was thrown from his motorcycle.

Emergency personnel from San Bernardino County Fire provided initial treatment at the scene. Due to the extent of Post’s injuries, an air ambulance was dispatched and landed on the freeway, resulting in a temporary closure of all southbound lanes. He was transported by helicopter to the hospital in serious condition.

Although initial reports suggested Post was alert at the scene, he later died from his injuries at the medical center.

Authorities have not yet released additional information regarding what led to the crash. No significant injuries were reported for others involved, and the investigation is ongoing.

In the days following his death, friends and loved ones expressed their condolences and honored Post’s memory online. He was remembered as a dedicated friend and a passionate motorcycle rider.

The California Highway Patrol’s Victorville station continues to investigate the collision.
