[06-09-2025] San Diego, CA – One Person Killed in Escondido Bicycle Accident

Escondido, California – An individual lost his life over the weekend after being hit by a car while biking across East Valley Parkway, according to a statement from the Escondido Police Department on Sunday.

The incident occurred around 9:10 p.m. on Saturday, approximately 100 feet west of the Ash Street intersection, when a Honda Accord struck the man, authorities reported.

The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Police noted that alcohol or drugs are not believed to have played a role in the crash.

The victim’s name has not yet been released, pending notification of his family.
