Montebello, California – A man riding a scooter was fatally injured in a three-vehicle collision that occurred Saturday morning in Montebello.
The Montebello Police Department reported that the crash took place shortly before 11:30 a.m. along North Garfield Avenue, between Hay Avenue and Madison Avenue.
Authorities confirmed that three cars and a pedestrian on a scooter were involved. One of the vehicles overturned as a result of the impact.
Emergency responders transported the scooter rider to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
North Garfield Avenue between Hay and Madison was expected to remain closed for several hours while officials conducted an investigation into the deadly crash.
The identity of the deceased pedestrian has not yet been released.
