Los Angeles, California – The Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office on Monday released the identity of a man who died after being ejected from an off-road vehicle during a collision in Lancaster.
The incident took place around 2:25 a.m. Monday on Avenue H, just west of 35th Street, and involved a Can-Am Maverick and a Nissan Sentra, according to Detective Ryan Ament from the Lancaster Station of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The man, identified as 36-year-old Juan Vital, was riding in the Can-Am when he was thrown from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities did not list his city of residence.
Detective Ament stated that the Nissan Sentra had been traveling eastbound on Avenue H when it struck the off-road vehicle, which was on the roadway.
“The cause of the crash remains under investigation,” Ament said. “At this time, it is unclear whether speed, alcohol, or drugs contributed to the incident.”
