Van Nuys, California – A woman was killed and several others were injured early Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Van Nuys and Burbank boulevards, authorities said.
The collision was reported around 1:45 a.m. in front of a Ralph’s supermarket parking lot, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Investigators said one vehicle traveling eastbound on Burbank Boulevard struck the driver’s side of another vehicle heading north on Van Nuys Boulevard.
Responding officers and firefighters pronounced a woman dead at the scene. At least three other people were transported to nearby hospitals with injuries, though their conditions remain unknown, NBC 4 reported.
Preliminary details suggest that one of the vehicles may have run a red light before the collision, according to the broadcast outlet.
