[09-11-2025] San Diego County, CA – Trash Truck Runs Over Man in Hillcrest Alley, Leaving Him Badly Injured

San Diego, California – A 41-year-old man suffered serious injuries Wednesday morning after being run over by a trash truck in a Hillcrest alley, according to San Diego police.

Authorities said the incident happened shortly before 11:30 a.m. in the 4000 block of Front Street. The man had been lying in the access road when he extended his left leg into the path of a southbound waste-management vehicle.

The truck struck the man, causing extensive injuries. Police said he suffered multiple broken bones, including a compound ankle fracture, and a large portion of skin was torn from one of his feet.

Officer David O’Brien of the San Diego Police Department reported that although the injuries were severe, they were not believed to be life-threatening.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
