Los Angeles, California – Three people were hospitalized Sunday morning after a vehicle slammed into a light pole and burst into flames near the Grammy Museum in downtown Los Angeles, authorities said.
Firefighters and paramedics responded around 7:38 a.m. to 966 S. Francisco St., where they found the vehicle engulfed in flames, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
“One patient was still trapped and required extrication,” LAFD spokesperson Lyndsey Lantz said. “Three total patients have been transported — two in at least serious condition, and one in fair condition.”
The victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their identities have not yet been released. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Can You Claim Compensation If You’re Injured as a Passenger in a Single-Car Crash?
Yes. Even if you were just a passenger in a single-car crash, you may still be entitled to claim compensation for your injuries. In California, passengers are generally considered innocent parties. That means you can file a personal injury claim against the driver’s insurance policy — even if the driver is a friend or relative — or potentially another liable party if a road hazard or vehicle defect contributed to the crash.
