[10-20-2025] Orange County, CA – One Killed, Two Injured in Huntington Beach Vehicle-Bicycle Collision

Huntington Beach, California – One person was killed and two others were seriously injured early Monday morning after a vehicle struck three bicyclists in Huntington Beach, authorities said.

The crash was reported around 6:45 a.m. at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Beach Boulevard, according to Huntington Beach Public Affairs Manager Corbin Carson. Responding officers found one bicyclist dead at the scene. The two other victims were transported to nearby hospitals with serious injuries.

“There are no outstanding suspects, and investigators are working to determine whether alcohol, drugs, or any other factors played a role in the crash,” Carson said.

The collision prompted the closure of southbound Pacific Coast Highway at Beach Boulevard while police conducted their investigation. The names of the victims were not immediately released.

The Huntington Beach Police Department is asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage to contact investigators as the cause remains under investigation.

Can You Claim Compensation After a Car-Bicycle Crash That Killed a Cyclist?

Yes — if a loved one was killed in a bicycle accident caused by a negligent driver, their family may have the right to seek financial compensation. Fatal bicycle crashes are unfortunately common in California, and the law allows surviving relatives to pursue justice through a wrongful death claim.

Working with experienced bicycle accident attorneys can help you understand who is eligible to file a claim and what damages can be recovered. Compensation may include funeral and burial costs, loss of income, and emotional suffering.

A wrongful death attorney in California can also help determine liability — whether the driver was distracted, speeding, or under the influence — and ensure the family’s claim meets all legal deadlines.
