Fresno, California – A man from Clovis lost his life Thursday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Fresno County.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the collision occurred around 2:35 p.m. at the intersection of DeWolf Avenue and South Avenue.
CHP spokesperson Mike Salas stated that a 24-year-old man was driving a Subaru northbound on DeWolf when he failed to stop at the intersection and proceeded through the stop sign. His vehicle then struck a Ford traveling east on South Avenue, which does not have a stop sign. The Ford was being driven by a 55-year-old resident of Parlier.
The Subaru driver died at the scene, while the Ford driver sustained moderate injuries.
Salas confirmed that both individuals were wearing seat belts and that neither alcohol nor drugs appear to have played a role in the incident.
The crash remains under investigation.
