South Los Angeles, California – A man was fatally struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross a street in South Los Angeles early Monday morning. The driver fled the scene, authorities said.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the pedestrian was crossing eastbound on 95th Street around 1:20 a.m. when he was hit by what investigators believe may have been a silver Chevrolet Tahoe SUV traveling southbound on San Pedro Street at a high speed.
The driver did not stop to assist and continued south on San Pedro Street after the crash, police reported.
Paramedics with the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived minutes later and pronounced the man dead at the scene.
