[09-03-2025] Los Angeles County, CA – Woman Killed, Three Injured in Early Morning Van Nuys T-Bone Crash

Van Nuys, California – A 40-year-old woman was killed and three men were hospitalized following a violent T-bone collision at a Van Nuys intersection early Wednesday morning, authorities said.

The crash was reported at about 1:45 a.m. at the intersection of Van Nuys and Burbank boulevards, near a Ralphs supermarket parking lot, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Investigators said a Honda Civic traveling eastbound on Burbank Boulevard ran a red light and slammed into the driver’s side of a Mercedes-Benz C300 headed north on Van Nuys Boulevard.

The woman driving the Mercedes was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name was withheld pending family notification.

Three men inside the Honda — all transported to a nearby hospital — suffered varying injuries. A 40-year-old man was listed in critical condition, a 25-year-old man was reported in serious condition, and another 25-year-old man was treated for minor injuries and was in fair condition, according to LAPD’s Valley Traffic Division.

While officers and emergency crews were working at the crash site, another driver rolled through police tape and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Police confirmed the arrest was unrelated to the fatal collision.

The intersection remained closed for several hours as detectives examined the scene. Video footage showed two mangled vehicles, with one resting in the middle of the roadway and the other pushed up against a Chipotle restaurant.

The LAPD continues to investigate the circumstances leading up to the collision.

How to Claim Compensation After a T-Bone Accident Resulting in Death or Injuries

T-bone accidents are among the most dangerous types of collisions. Because the side of a vehicle provides little protection, these crashes often result in severe injuries or fatalities. If you or a loved one has been affected by a T-bone crash, you may be eligible to pursue compensation for your losses.

Determining Liability in a T-Bone Crash

The first step in filing a claim is proving who was at fault. In many cases, T-bone accidents occur when a driver runs a red light, fails to yield, or is distracted. Establishing liability requires evidence such as police reports, surveillance footage, and witness testimony. Working with experienced t-bone accident attorneys can help ensure that critical evidence is preserved and used effectively to support your case.

Compensation for Injuries and Wrongful Death

Victims who survive a T-bone crash may face medical bills, lost income, and long-term rehabilitation costs. In cases where a loved one has died, families may pursue damages through wrongful death attorneys. Compensation can cover funeral expenses, loss of financial support, and the emotional suffering caused by the loss of a family member.

Filing a Claim in California

Because California has specific laws and statutes of limitations that apply to personal injury and wrongful death claims, it’s essential to seek guidance from skilled car accident lawyers in California. Legal professionals can handle negotiations with insurance companies, calculate the true value of your claim, and represent you in court if necessary.
