Authorities identified the rider as Miguel Angel Peñaloza Garcia of Santa Ana, who was traveling northbound on Pacific Coast Highway near Warner Avenue around 12:15 a.m. when his 2006 Suzuki motorcycle struck a guardrail, according to Huntington Beach Police Department spokesperson Corbin Carson.
Peñalozagarcia was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, a 27-year-old woman from Anaheim, was found nearby with critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

Is it Possible to Claim Compensation When a Motorcyclist Dies in a Hit-and-Run?
Yes. When a motorcyclist is killed in a hit-and-run, the surviving family members may have the right to pursue financial compensation through a wrongful death claim. Working with experienced wrongful death attorneys is critical in these cases, as they can help families recover damages for funeral expenses, lost income, emotional suffering, and more.
Because the crash involves a motorcycle, motorcycle accidents attorneys can also guide families through the unique legal challenges that riders face, including proving liability and identifying all potential sources of compensation. Even if the at-fault driver fled the scene, hit and run accident attorneys can pursue claims through uninsured motorist coverage or other avenues of recovery.
Families in Southern California, including Los Angeles, may also benefit from consulting a Los Angeles car accident attorney who understands both local traffic laws and the complexities of fatal motorcycle collisions. If your loved one was killed in a motorcycle hit-and-run, do not wait to seek legal help.
