[10-08-2025] Los Angeles County, CA – Jason Ramirez Identified as Second Victim in North Hollywood Fatal Crash

North Hollywood, California – Authorities have identified the second victim who died following a fiery crash in North Hollywood that left two young men dead early Friday morning.

The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner confirmed that Jason Ramirez, 19, was the second victim who died at a hospital after the crash. The first victim, Jonathan Dicristofaro, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the collision occurred around 1:43 a.m. Friday in the 11600 block of West Vanowen Street, just south of Lemp Avenue. Officials said the silver vehicle was traveling westbound on Vanowen when it crossed into the center median, veered off the road, and struck an electrical pole before hitting several parked cars.

Firefighters with the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and used hydraulic tools to extricate the victims from the wreckage.

Both victims sustained critical injuries; Dicristofaro died at the scene, while Ramirez succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by police.

Can You Claim Compensation if Multiple People Die in a Car Accident?

Yes. If a car crash results in multiple fatalities, the surviving families of each victim may be eligible to file a wrongful death claim. These claims allow family members to seek compensation for losses such as funeral expenses, loss of income, emotional distress, and companionship.

In California, determining liability in a fatal car accident depends on who caused the crash — whether it was a negligent driver, a defective vehicle part, or unsafe road conditions. Each victim’s family has the right to pursue separate compensation claims, even if all deaths occurred in the same incident.

Working with experienced wrongful death attorneys can help families understand their rights and recover maximum compensation. Skilled car accident lawyers in California will investigate the scene, gather evidence, and negotiate aggressively with insurance companies.

If the crash occurred in the Los Angeles area, contacting a local Los Angeles car accident attorney can ensure your case is handled efficiently under California’s complex wrongful death laws.
