Santa Ana, California – A 25-year-old Westminster man has pleaded guilty to charges stemming from a deadly DUI crash that killed motorcyclist Nathan Philip Perreault, 38, of Huntington Beach.
Prosecutors said Abdallah Hussein Ali Eid admitted to multiple felony counts, including vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated (without gross negligence), DUI causing injury, DUI with a blood-alcohol level above 0.08% causing injury, DUI involving both alcohol and drugs causing injury, felony hit-and-run with permanent and serious injury, and failing to stop at an accident involving death. According to Westminster police, the collision occurred around 2 a.m. on March 8 at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and McFadden Avenue. Investigators said Eid fled immediately after the crash, but officers located him nearby with the assistance of multiple witnesses.
Perreault, the motorcyclist struck in the crash, died from his injuries.
Eid is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 16 in Department C57 of the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana.
