How to Claim Compensation When Someone Dies in a Pedestrian Accident

Losing a loved one in a pedestrian accident is devastating, and while no amount of money can undo the pain, pursuing compensation can help ease the financial burden and hold the responsible party accountable.

In California, surviving family members—such as spouses, children, or in some cases, parents—may file a wrongful death claim against the at-fault driver or other liable parties.

The process typically involves proving negligence, establishing the extent of the damages (such as loss of financial support, funeral expenses, and emotional suffering), and negotiating with insurance companies or taking the case to court if needed. It’s essential to gather evidence promptly, including police reports, witness statements, surveillance footage, and medical documentation.

Working with experienced pedestrian accident attorneys can make a significant difference in navigating California’s legal system and maximizing the compensation you and your family are entitled to. These professionals can handle the legal process on your behalf, giving you space to grieve and begin healing.Call Megeredchian Law at (866) 359-0807 to schedule a free consultation.
