Hesperia, California – A street vendor sustained injuries Sunday morning when a Ford Mustang lost control and collided with his parked pickup truck off Highway 395 in Hesperia.
The accident occurred on June 8, 2025, near the El Rancho Animal Feed Store, located at the intersection of Avenal Street and Highway 395—close to the area initially reported near Main Street.
San Bernardino County Sheriff’s spokesperson Mara Rodriguez stated that the Mustang was trailing another vehicle that allegedly braked without warning. While attempting to avoid a rear-end crash, the Mustang’s driver swerved, lost control, and exited the roadway.
The vehicle first hit a brick wall with iron fencing before slamming into the front of a red Toyota Tacoma parked beside the vendor’s roadside setup. The vendor was behind the truck, unloading merchandise, when the impact occurred.
Photos from the scene show the Mustang with severe front-end damage and the pickup with visible damage on its front passenger side.
Debris was strewn across the vendor’s shaded stand, which offered fruits, juices, and other refreshments beneath umbrellas.
The vendor, who reported pain in his leg, was assessed at the scene by San Bernardino County Fire personnel and taken by ambulance for additional medical care. It remains unclear whether he was directly hit or injured by flying debris or the impact.
The Mustang’s driver stayed at the scene and fully cooperated with responding officers. No additional injuries were reported.
The Hesperia Police Department continues to investigate the crash.
