Brentwood, California – Three individuals were injured early Wednesday morning — including one person who reportedly lost a leg — following a multi-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck on the southbound 405 Freeway in Brentwood.
The crash occurred around 2:15 a.m. near the Getty Center off-ramp, where California Highway Patrol officers arrived to find a white utility vehicle, a gray Jeep, and a semi-truck blocking two lanes after colliding, CHP Officer Ramon Kendricks told City News Service.
All three victims were transported to local hospitals for medical care. According to ABC7 and other media reports, one of the injured individuals sustained a leg amputation as a result of the crash.
The incident prompted the closure of the No. 3, 4, and 5 lanes of the southbound freeway while CHP officers conducted their investigation.
By approximately 7:20 a.m., all lanes were reopened and the Sigalert was lifted, CHP officials said.
