Van Nuys Metro Bus Collision

Van Nuys, California – Authorities are investigating a multi-vehicle collision involving a Metro bus in Van Nuys that left three people hospitalized and resulted in one arrest, officials said Tuesday.

The crash occurred around 9:45 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Woodley Avenue and Hart Street, according to reports from the Los Angeles Fire Department. Firefighters arrived on the scene to assist the injured and transport three individuals to the hospital.

Los Angeles Police Department Officer Charles Miller confirmed that the driver of a red Honda involved in the crash was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence.

A Metro spokeswoman said the bus, which was operating on Line 237 northbound on Woodley Avenue, was struck during the incident. The bus operator was treated at the scene but did not require hospitalization. No passengers aboard the bus were injured.

“Metro is grateful to the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles Fire Department for their swift response,” the spokeswoman said. “The bus operator was treated on the scene, and no passengers were injured. Metro extends its best wishes to the operator for a full recovery.”

The LAPD is leading the investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
