Hesperia, California – Authorities are investigating a deadly crash after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on Main Street in Hesperia early Thursday morning, leading to temporary road closures.
The incident occurred around 2:52 a.m. on June 19, 2025, near the 76 gas station exit on Main Street, just east of Cataba Road.
San Bernardino County Fire Department personnel arrived at the scene and confirmed that the pedestrian had died. The individual’s name, gender, and housing status have not yet been officially released.
The driver involved was operating a silver 2016 Chevrolet Malibu LTZ Limited. She stayed at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. The vehicle, which showed damage to the front passenger side, came to a stop just west of the intersection.
Deputies from the Hesperia Sheriff’s Station closed Main Street’s westbound lanes at Key Pointe Drive while conducting their investigation. Debris from the crash, including a single shoe, was scattered across the street and sidewalk.
A man identifying himself as a homeless local resident stated he didn’t witness the crash but speculated the victim may have been a familiar pedestrian in the area. This has not been confirmed by officials.
Crews from Hesperia Public Works assisted with directing traffic around the closure. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Hesperia Sheriff’s Station.
