Granada Hills, California – County officials on Wednesday released the identity of a 24-year-old man who died in a crash in Granada Hills.
The incident occurred around 9:07 p.m. Monday in the 10700 block of Lindley Avenue, near Chatsworth Street. According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, the victim was Mauricio Arana. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics found Arana at the scene.
Authorities said Arana was ejected during the crash and died at the scene. His death was confirmed by LAFD spokesman Brian Humphrey.
A second occupant, a 25-year-old man, was transported to a hospital in critical condition, according to the LAFD.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. No other injuries were reported.
