Los Angeles, California – Authorities are investigating in Irwindale after a person was struck and killed by a Metrolink train on Sunday.
The circumstances surrounding the fatal crash, which happened near Irwindale Avenue and Edna Place, remain unclear. The Los Angeles County Fire Department reported arriving shortly after 4:20 p.m. and confirmed the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
Video shared on the Citizen app showed Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies on the tracks, with patrol vehicles parked nearby and crime scene tape blocking off the area.
The Irwindale Police Department issued an advisory on social media urging drivers and residents to avoid the area and expect significant delays due to road closures.
Metrolink also announced service disruptions, warning passengers to anticipate delays between Baldwin Park and Covina.
