Asuza, California – A 27-year-old motorcycle rider was killed early Thursday morning after colliding with a parked pickup truck in Azusa, authorities said.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner identified the victim as Rudy Tovar, who died at the scene.
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Elizabeth Kravig, the crash occurred at 12:07 a.m. Thursday on the 100 block of West Gladstone Street, just west of South Azusa Avenue. Officers from both the CHP and the Azusa Police Department responded to the scene, along with Los Angeles Fire Department personnel.
Tovar was pronounced dead at the site by paramedics.
The California Highway Patrol is leading the investigation into the cause of the collision.
