Agua Dulce, California – One person was killed Sunday night in a multi-vehicle collision on the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway in Agua Dulce, authorities confirmed.
The fatal crash occurred around 9:27 p.m. on the northbound lanes of the 14 Freeway, just south of Escondido Canyon Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A witness at the scene told officers that one of the vehicles had come to rest on top of another. Responding units from the Los Angeles County Fire Department pronounced one person dead at the scene and treated several others who sustained injuries in the crash.
The CHP issued a SigAlert at 9:54 p.m., closing two northbound lanes for several hours while crews cleared the wreckage and investigators documented the scene. The lanes were reopened around 2:20 a.m. Monday after the SigAlert was lifted.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and the identity of the deceased has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
