Gardena, California – A pedestrian was critically injured Monday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle at a busy intersection in Gardena, authorities said.
The crash occurred around 2:15 p.m. at Redondo Beach Boulevard and Budlong Avenue, according to Gardena Police Department Lt. Matthew Hassoldt. Responding officers found the victim lying in the roadway with severe injuries.
Paramedics from the Los Angeles County Fire Department provided emergency treatment at the scene before transporting the pedestrian to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where they remain in critical condition.
