
Los Angeles, California – Five people were hospitalized Sunday night after a Los Angeles Fire Department ambulance collided with an SUV while transporting two elderly patients to a local hospital, authorities said.
The crash occurred around 8 p.m. at the intersection of Chase Street and Woodman Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Inside the ambulance were a 94-year-old man and an 81-year-old woman, along with the ambulance driver and an attendant. All four were taken to a nearby hospital following the impact.
The 34-year-old SUV driver was transported to a local trauma center in critical condition, the LAFD said.
