Chula Vista, California – A 48-year-old woman suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car Saturday night in Chula Vista, according to authorities.
The incident happened around 9:20 p.m. in the 300 block of Broadway. Police reported that the woman, who is unhoused, was attempting to cross the street when she was struck. It’s not yet known whether she was using a designated crosswalk.
Emergency responders transported her to a nearby hospital, where she remains in critical condition. Her identity has not been released.
The driver, a 28-year-old man from National City, and his 21-year-old passenger stayed at the scene and spoke with investigators.
At this time, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is still underway.
