San Marcos, California – An 80-year-old woman was killed early Monday morning in a solo car crash near Palomar College, authorities reported.
According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the victim was driving a Honda sedan when the vehicle overturned in the 500 block of San Marcos Boulevard shortly before 3 a.m.
Sgt. Jeremy Collis confirmed that the woman died at the scene. Her name has not yet been released, pending notification of her family.
“At this time, the cause of the crash remains under investigation,” Collis said Monday afternoon, adding that there were no witnesses to the incident.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact the San Marcos Sheriff’s Station.
