El Cajon, California – A 12-year-old boy is fighting for his life after being struck in a hit-and-run crash Wednesday night in El Cajon, according to authorities.
Police responded around 8 p.m. to reports of a juvenile pedestrian found lying in the roadway along the 300 block of Ballantyne Street, near the intersection with East Park Avenue. When officers arrived, they discovered the boy suffering from severe head trauma.
Emergency personnel transported him to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition, the El Cajon Police Department said.
