Pacific Beach Motorcycle Accidents

Pacific Beach, California – Two men riding motorcycles were injured in unrelated accidents in Pacific Beach on Wednesday evening, with both incidents occurring less than 30 minutes apart, according to San Diego police.

The first crash took place around 5:29 p.m. at the intersection of Ingraham Street and La Mancha Drive. Authorities reported that a 61-year-old man riding a green Kawasaki dirt bike—without wearing a helmet—collided with a Toyota Corolla.

A 20-year-old woman was heading south on the 3600 block of Ingraham Street in a silver Corolla when she made a left turn onto La Mancha Drive. The motorcycle, traveling northbound on Ingraham, struck the car on the side, causing the rider to be thrown from the bike, said Officer Jose Perales of the San Diego Police Department.

Surveillance video reportedly showed the rider going at unsafe speeds. He suffered a serious head injury and was transported to a hospital. His current condition is unknown.

Roughly 20 minutes later, a second crash occurred at around 5:51 p.m. on the 2300 block of Grand Avenue. A 55-year-old man riding a motorcycle was injured in a chain-reaction crash involving multiple vehicles.

Police say a 66-year-old woman driving a Nissan pickup truck was traveling east in the number one lane, while a 32-year-old man driving a Chevrolet Camaro was in the number two lane. The motorcyclist, also in the number one lane, approached slowed traffic and struck the rear of the Nissan pickup. The impact caused both the motorcycle and the pickup to then crash into the back of the Camaro.

The motorcyclist suffered multiple injuries, including a compound fracture in the arm, as well as breaks to the femur, tibia, and fibula. Investigators said alcohol played a role in the crash.

The San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division is handling both investigations. Anyone with relevant information is asked to call 858-495-7800 or contact Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.

Steps to Claim Compensation Following a Motorcycle Accident

If you’ve been injured in a motorcycle crash, it’s important to follow the right steps to protect your rights and increase your chances of receiving full compensation. Motorcycle accidents often result in severe injuries, and knowing how to act can make a critical difference in your case.

1. Seek Immediate Medical Attention

Your health is the top priority. Even if injuries seem minor, get checked by a medical professional. Medical records will also serve as vital evidence for your injury claim.

2. Report the Accident

Always call the police and file an official report. This documentation will support your case when dealing with insurance companies or filing a lawsuit.

3. Collect Evidence

If you’re physically able, gather photos of the scene, your injuries, damage to vehicles, and contact information from any witnesses. Dashcam or surveillance footage can also help prove liability.

4. Avoid Talking to Insurance Adjusters

Insurance companies may try to settle quickly or get you to say something that weakens your claim. Do not give recorded statements without speaking to an attorney first.
